Introducing James Repass, The Role Initiative’s President
I wanted to take some time and introduce myself. My name is James RePass, and I often go by Navy_DM on twitter and other social media. I have recently come into the role of President here with the good folks at The Role Initiative. As my moniker hints at, I’m a former Navy nuclear submariner, as well as a sports and video game fan, and lifelong tabletop gamer, and I’m very excited to be working with this awesome group.
I am filling the shoes of Mark Merida, who is staying on board to help where he can and as President Emeritus, but who has decided to move on. He has done a tremendous amount of work for TRI over the years, and we not only wish him the best, but look forward to working with him in the future.
Previously, I have been a content creator, contributor, and general jack of all trades to The Role Initiative, and have been with us since inception several years ago. In the past, I have served on the boards, as an officer, or as a similar volunteer to several charities, non profits, community groups, et al, and look forward to bringing that experience to our tabletop focused efforts here at TRI.
Going forward, I look forward to the fun (and challenging) task of leading TRI forward as we continue on our missions. We are dedicated to getting Dungeons and Dragons, and other tabletop games, into the hands of as many people as possible, regardless of whatever difficulties they may have in doing so for themselves. While you may know us from the games we also run at conventions such as TotalCon, CarnageCon, the PAX’es, and others, we hope you will join us at our game days, workshops, and other charity events as well.
This is an exciting time at The Role Initiative, and I hope to see and work with as many of you as we can moving forward.
President, The Role Initiative
